Forming part of the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), we were thrilled to sponsor and join the Prestwold 10k last week, with three of our team clocking respectable times on the big day.
It was Hunter, Aitkenhead & Walker’s first time sponsoring the race organised by the Barrow Runners Club. It was a fantastic day with a great vibe, and one we hope to continue to be a part of in the coming years.
The route includes a mix of private land and beautiful country lanes, perfect for a summer run. If you’re a keen runner yourself, it’s definitely one we’d recommend, and there are still a few more LRRL fixtures left to go this season around the Leicestershire area.
Crossing the finish line this year from the Hunter, Aitkenhead & Walker team were Rob Handford who completed the course in 48:01 (a personal best!), and Jim Aitkenhead and Alyson Hunter both set an excellent time of 64:53. Joining them were more than 750 runners, luckily the weather held out and the racers didn’t get caught out by the downpours that have plagued the summer so far!
