Each year the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) holds a prestigious awards night. This year’s event took place on 3 October and we’re delighted to announce that Chartered and certified financial planner and HA&W managing director Alasdair Walker was honoured with one of the night’s top awards.
Alasdair walked away with the coveted Certified Financial Planning Professional of the Year Award.

Alasdair beat some tough opposition among a record-breaking shortlist
Judges at the packed event commended the quality of the applications they received in a packed and tight field of leading names from the profession.
Alasdair says that he “was incredibly pleased to win CFP of the Year,” adding that the “judges said it was the biggest shortlist they’ve ever had, due to the high quality of applications.”
FTAdviser, meanwhile, quotes the CISI’s assistant director for financial planning and education development, Sally Plant, as wishing “Many congratulations to all our winners.”
She adds, “You should be hugely proud of your achievements and these awards are a testament to your professionalism and the value you offer to your clients.
“Your dedication will inspire your peers and the next generation of financial planners”
Many of you will know that Alasdair joined HA&W back in 2011.
Since then, he has been committed to helping drive the financial planning profession forward. He has chaired the Personal Finance Society’s (PFS’s) “Financial Planning panel” and spoken at conferences and to politicians, policymakers, and think tanks at the Westminster Forum.
This dedication to the profession led to him becoming a CFP™ Professional and Chartered financial planner.
